Strapping

A Signature Detail

Strapping is not just a detail: it is a mark of character, a punctuation that gives each table its final touch of elegance. Polished or brushed, smooth or moulded, every finish tells a different story. And the material itself profoundly influences the aesthetic, the feel, and even the patina that time will bring.
Our strappings are available in brass, stainless steel, copper — three iconic metals of Parisian café terraces — as well as in beechwood, a warm material ideal for adding softness to your interiors.

Brass Strapping

Iconic & timeless

A noble material if ever there was one, brass beautifully embodies the spirit of old Parisian terraces. Its golden shine — both warm and refined — charms with its authenticity.

A living metal

Brass evolves, transforms. It naturally develops a patina over time, gaining softer, more matte, almost velvety tones. This subtle transformation is precisely what so many of our clients love. The process accelerates with humidity, sea air or everyday handling. It begins with a slight “speckled” effect or a few irregular shadows, before becoming even and harmonious.

Two approaches are possible:
– Let the metal live and embrace the beauty of time passing.
– Preserve its original shine with gentle, regular care twice a month.

Stainless-Steel Strapping

Discreet & durable

With a more understated sheen, stainless steel is nonetheless authentic and retro. And if it has long charmed professional establishments since its introduction on café terraces many years ago, it is thanks to its exceptional robustness.

Sea winds, humid weather, temperature variations — stainless steel remains unfazed, retaining its shape, colour and brightness.

Copper Strapping

Warm & magnetic

With its luminous red tones, copper has a rare, almost mystical elegance. Used for centuries in art, jewellery and sacred architecture, it has spanned eras without losing its splendour.

A patina with character

Like brass, copper develops a patina over time, gaining depth and new nuances. This evolution is not a flaw but a natural metamorphosis, one you may choose to keep… or to remove. A simple application of Miror is enough to restore its original shine, whenever you wish.

The unexpected material

Wood Strapping

Delicately moulded, beechwood strapping follows the curves of your Tradition or Haussmann tabletops, giving them a more relaxed authenticity and a subtler elegance. Paired with colder materials, it creates a striking contrast, revealing the richness of its nuances and the depth of its texture.
